How to align with legislation ?
Be transparent on the accessibility of your website:
Publish an Accessibility Declaration via an “accessibility” link in the footer of your site. This declaration is standardized. It displays the level of accessibility and gives the link to the group's 3-year digital accessibility plan...
If your website has not been audited:
Publish the Non-Conformity Accessibility Declaration. Being transparent is the minimum required to comply with the regulation.
If your website has been audited:
Publish an Accessibility declaration on each website with the result and details of the audit, whether the site is not conform, partially conform or totally conform.
Here is the example from the Michelin corporate website.
To improve
Have your site audited. The group is currently working on a master contract to select partners to perform the audits. More info to come.
Please add Anthony Macri (Michelin's Digital Accessibility Referent) to your e-mail when contacting the audit provider to keep him informed.
Update the Accessibility Declaration with the results of the audit.
Plan for improvements based on the auditor's recommendations.
Audit again to confirm improvements.
